About the role:Raytheon are looking for a Senior Quality Engineer to join the team on working on precision electronics at our Livingston site. Reporting to the Quality Delivery Lead, this role shall be responsible for delivering Quality Assurance in line with the Quality Management System and Quality Policy across business units. The Quality Assurance Team are involved in several exciting and high-profile programmes and accountable for partnering with the program teams to deliver products to the highest quality standards. The QA Engineer shall also be closely integrated and aligned to the respective program team(s).
An integral part of a cross functional Team, the role conducts day to day Quality Assurance activities whilst engaging with key stakeholders across the organisation.
Main Duties:- Ensure the Quality Management System processes and process control documentation are compliant with requirements, objectives and/or contracts.
- Primary authority on all quality related matters on the assigned programme(s) / area of responsibility.
- Writing and reviewing Quality Plans, reports and plans.
- Conduct Quality Audits (Internal product / product release / process) across the business areas.
- Ensure effective & timely closure of actions received from Audit Non-Conformances, customer complaints and internal findings.
- Diagnose and mitigate product non-conformities identified internally and externally. RCCA and Non-Conformance Management
- Providing advice to the Business Area Lead and all Program Leads on the quality aspects of the work being undertaken.
- Quality support to the technical design organization and Engineering program reviews.
- Independent assurance on compliance with standards, identifying issues, recommending solutions, and creating necessary quality documentation
- Perform the quality activities within the Programs in support of the Design activities, respective Quality Assurance Plans i.e. First Article Inspections, Source Inspections, support to Quality Assurance Working Groups, checks on incoming and outgoing products i.e. Certificates of Conformance.
Skills and Experience:- Ability to review & interpret technical drawings and/or test
- Developing and maintaining sound, productive relationships with colleagues and stakeholders
- Thorough problem solving to ensure the programs can meet their needs whilst still achieving the agreed quality requirements.
- Proactive approach to risk reduction to prevent & resolve issues and remove non-value add processes
- Sound communication with internal and external stakeholders at multiple levels and technical SMEs.
- Analyse Quality data and manufacturing processes to drive continuous improvement and preventative action initiatives to reduce quality costs, through the implementation of mistake proofing.
- Coaching and guiding other team members and stakeholders in the needs of the business from a QA perspective.
- Knowledge of Quality Assurance, Internal Auditing and RCCA (Root Cause Corrective Action) methodologies
- Proactive approach to risk reduction, preventing & resolving issues to remove waste from processes.
- Promote continuous Improvement, through best practice, problem solving & education.
Desirable:- ISO Auditor Trained or Knowledge of Standards ISO9001 and or AS9100
- Experience within Manufacturing and/or Quality Engineering Organisation
- Effective facilitation skills
