Job description

This is a creative and forward-thinking school committed to inspiring students through the arts and design. We are seeking a passionate and versatile Art, Photography & Design Technology Teacher to join their team and help students develop their artistic and technical skills. This role begins September 2025.

Duties as Art Teacher:

  • Deliver engaging and innovative lessons across Art, Photography, and Design Technology at [KS3/KS4/KS5] level.

  • Encourage students to experiment with different artistic media, photographic techniques, and design principles.

  • Teach both traditional and digital photography, including editing and composition.

  • Guide students in practical DT projects, ensuring safe and effective use of tools and materials.

  • Assess and monitor student progress, providing constructive feedback and support.

  • Contribute to the development of the creative curriculum and extra-curricular activities, such as art exhibitions and photography clubs.

Ideal Art Teacher:

  • A recognised teaching qualification (e.g. PGCE, QTS).

  • A degree in Art, Design Technology, Photography, or a related subject.

  • Experience teaching Art, Photography, and DT at [KS3/KS4/KS5] level.

  • Strong technical skills in both traditional and digital art/photography methods.

  • A passion for fostering creativity and innovation in students.
