An exciting opportunity has arisen at Norton Hill Primary School, we are looking to recruit a Class Teacher.

We have wonderful facilities at Norton Hill Primary, including a superb sports provision with two indoor sports halls, a dance studio, two large pitches for football and rugby, and a hard surface sports pitch with basketball, tennis, hockey, football, and netball pitches. We also specialise in STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics).

Role: Class Teacher - Maternity Cover

Location: Norton Hill Primary School

Start Date: 1st September

Your primary role will be to inspire young minds and ensure that every child in your care achieves their potential.

You will also:

• Have a good understanding of the primary curriculum.
• Facilitate learning by establishing positive relationships with pupils, organising learning resources, and creating a supportive classroom environment.
• Assess and record pupils' progress.
• Link pupils’ knowledge to earlier learning and develop strategies to deepen their understanding, challenging and inspiring pupils.

Tasks for all primary school teachers include:

• Teaching all areas of the primary curriculum.
• Taking responsibility for the progress of a class of primary-age pupils.
• Organising the classroom and learning resources, and creating displays to promote a positive learning environment.
• Planning, preparing, and delivering lessons tailored to the needs of all ability levels.
• Motivating pupils through enthusiastic and imaginative presentations.
• Maintaining discipline in accordance with school policies.
• Preparing and marking work to support pupil development.
• Meeting assessment and recording requirements.
• Ensuring pupil safety and following child protection and safeguarding policies.
• Providing feedback to parents and carers during meetings and reports.
• Coordinating curriculum activities and supporting colleagues.
• Collaborating with other professionals and keeping up to date with curriculum changes.
• Participating in school events, outings, and activities.
• Liaising with colleagues, parents, and governors to involve them in school development.
• Meeting with professionals such as education welfare officers and psychologists, if needed.
