My client is a top 40-ranked law firm seeking an Inquest solicitor to join their expanding Regulatory Healthcare Advisory team. The team offers a broad range of expert advice to organisations and individuals on health-based regulatory matters and proceedings. They serve an enviable client base, including NHS Trusts, private healthcare providers, and handle inquests, Court of Protection applications, Mental Health Tribunals, and other regulatory challenges, including advising on and defending prosecutions by the Care Quality Commission.

The role primarily involves managing a caseload of inquest files for NHS clients, care homes, and other organisations, with potential involvement in broader healthcare advisory work. The diverse nature of their work provides opportunities for lawyers to engage in various client matters outside their core caseload.

Main duties and responsibilities
  1. Manage a caseload of files.
  2. Attend Inquest hearings at court, including travel.
  3. Advocacy at pre-inquest review hearings and inquests.
  4. Advise on a broad range of health and care-related matters.
  5. Work in accordance with the firm's values.
Essential requirements
  • Qualified solicitor with 3-7 years PQE.
  • Advocacy experience.
