The Dumfries and Galloway Mental Health AHP Team is seeking a Band 7 Highly Specialist Mental Health Dietitian with a clinical specialism in Eating Disorders.
The post holder will be an autonomous expert clinician, working as a clinical specialist, managing a caseload of highly complex patients through expert assessment, treatment planning, and discharge.
They will have both clinical and professional responsibility for their area of practice.
They will act independently to provide a comprehensive specialist service, including highly specialist interventions and assessments, diagnosis, treatment/management, onward referral, and discharge for a complex range of patients.
The post holder will be a core member of the multidisciplinary team and support high-level decision-making.
They will liaise with and refer to other social and health services to provide comprehensive, patient-centered care and optimize outcomes.
The post holder will be responsible for introducing innovative ideas, approaches, and processes.
They will focus on maximizing service provision, health promotion, and self-management.
The post holder will provide expert support and education for health professionals, relatives, and carers within and outside the service.
They will maintain and improve clinical governance, evidence-based practice, and quality assurance in their service area, working with the AHP Service Manager, AHP Lead (Mental Health), and team leaders, with responsibility for clinical and staff governance issues.
The post holder will implement research, conduct audits, and develop a service responsive to national initiatives, policies, and clinical governance.
