We have a fantastic opportunity for a Principal Psychologist to join our Adult Mental Health Specialty at Aneurin Bevan University Health Board. This role offers the chance to shape the future of psychological services for adults in Torfaen.
As a Principal Psychologist, you will deliver high-quality assessments, formulations, and interventions, while guiding a team to achieve excellence in psychological care. You will lead a diverse team, including Assistant Psychologists, Psychological Practitioners, and a Senior Psychologist, supported by the Head of Specialty.
This role covers services across the Borough—from Community to Acute facilities—driving the development of specialist psychological services that improve lives.

Applicants not holding an HCPC registration as a Practitioner Psychologist but willing to work towards it may be considered under an Annex 21 band 8b training post, starting at 75% of the top pay rate. Upon successful completion of training, full band 8b salary applies. Candidates must meet all other essential criteria and be within a year of completing their Doctorate in Clinical or Counselling Psychology.
