Qualifications

Company & Project

An award-winning Tier 1 Main Contractor operating across sectors such as Commercial, MOD, Leisure, Education, Science, and Residential is seeking an experienced Senior Quantity Surveyor. The role involves working on a c£70m New Build project near Watford.

The project is in the Pre-Construction phase, with on-site start expected in early 2026. The successful candidate will have the opportunity to be involved from the early stages, reporting to a Commercial Lead. There is a clear pathway for progression with support for professional development and training.

Duties & Responsibilities

The Senior Quantity Surveyor will manage daily commercial functions through the PCSA stage, including measurement & valuations, payment applications, account reconciliation, subcontractor procurement, and inquiries, up to practical completion.

• Minimum 10 years+ experience (post-graduation) as a Quantity Surveyor for a Main Contractor.
• Knowledge of JCT and/or NEC contracts is advantageous.
• Strong negotiation skills and experience in procuring subcontractors are beneficial.
• Previous roles may include Assistant Quantity Surveyor, Project QS, Quantity Surveyor, Commercial Manager, Assistant Commercial Manager, or Project Surveyor.

Qualifications & Skills

Degree in Quantity Surveying or Construction Management, NVQ Level 6 or higher, or equivalent qualification.
