Job summary

Gloucestershire Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust is offering a two-year apprenticeship as a Pre-Registration Trainee Pharmacy Technician. Earn while you learn in a busy hospital environment, with structured education and training.

Work with experienced Pharmacy professionals on hospital wards, developing the knowledge and skills to become a qualified Technician. On successful completion you can register with the GPhC.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 4 GCSEs including English Language, Mathematics and at least one science subject.
• Desirable: Basic knowledge of Microsoft Office Word and email programs

Responsibilities

• Support the safe preparation and supply of medicines to patients.
• Work alongside Pharmacy Technicians and Pharmacists on hospital wards, helping patients receive the medicines they need.
• Develop skills in medicines management, stock control, ordering and distribution.
• Communicate with patients, healthcare professionals and other members of the Pharmacy team.
• Gain experience in specialist pharmacy services and understand the career opportunities for Pharmacy Technicians.
