Within Milngavie EYC we are currently looking to recruit a fantastic Early Years Worker to join our team.
We currently have a vacancy for a 14 hour temporary Early Years worker to cover a period of flexible working until 31st July 2026 (with the possibility for extension) or until the current post holder returns.
Your pattern of attendance will be Thursday and Friday between 8am and 6pm on rotational shifts. This is an extended year position.
You will be required to be adaptable and work as part of a team that supports the development of high quality early years services for children and families. You will provide children with a range of appropriate experiences and learning opportunities suitable for their age and stage of development. Therefore, you will have a sound working knowledge of local and national curriculum guidance and care standards. You will support the model of a safe, caring, stimulating and inclusive environment for parents and families.
You will be enthusiastic and articulate with excellent interpersonal and communication skills and have an understanding of the importance of confidentiality.
The successful candidate must possess a relevant childcare qualification as defined in the role profile. REHIS food hygiene certificate, training in Makaton, First Aid Certification, and Autism Awareness is desirable. You should have a minimum of one year's experience in a childcare setting and experience of working with children who have a range of ASN.

Please note, successful candidates will be expected to meet the cost of the relevant check which will be deducted from the successful candidate's first salary payment.
In specific circumstances the payment could be deducted in instalments from an employee's wages following commencement of employment. Approval in such circumstances will be made by the HR & OD Manager.
Should an employee leave in advance of the payment being deducted, the full amount will be deducted from the employee's final salary.
The criteria outlined above will apply to existing employees of East Dunbartonshire Council who apply for roles for which a PVG/Disclosure check is required.
