Early Years Trainer / Skills Coach

Locations: Leeds and Manchester

Pertemps is delighted to be partnering with a well-regarded Training Provider known for delivering high-quality apprenticeships across Early Years Training Programmes. They work closely with employers and colleges to provide relevant training that helps shape the next generation of professionals, with a strong commitment to quality.

They are currently looking to add an Early Years Assessor / Trainer to their growing team, starting in September and October. This role involves working with learners in West Yorkshire and the Greater Manchester area who are completing Level 2 and Level 3 Early Years Apprenticeships.

About the Role:

As a Trainer/Assessor, your main focus will be delivering high-quality training and assessments within agreed timescales to meet national standards. You'll support and monitor apprentices' learning and progress throughout their programme and provide regular reports on their development.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver engaging classroom and workshop sessions to apprentices on Level 2 and Level 3 Early Years Training Programmes
  • Ensure the delivery of agreed programmes and keep the IQA Manager informed of any issues
  • Manage any disciplinary or classroom behaviour issues in line with company policies
  • Mentor apprentices to help them develop the professional skills required in the workplace
  • Track apprentice progress, assess work, provide constructive feedback, and update support materials
  • Take daily registers and promptly report absences
  • Maintain accurate tracking and documentation for quality, compliance, and audit purposes
  • Conduct apprentice reviews and attend relevant meetings
  • Work towards achieving retention and completion targets
  • Keep apprentice portfolios up to date and ensure compliance with funding and quality standards
  • Stay informed of any changes to frameworks, qualifications, and assessment procedures

What we're looking for:

  • A relevant assessor qualification such as TAQA, CAVA, or A1
  • Experience delivering apprenticeships and familiarity with Early Years apprenticeship standards
  • Level 3 (or higher) Early Years/Childcare qualification and significant vocational experience in Early Years roles such as room leader or teaching assistant
  • Strong understanding of safeguarding, equality and diversity, and health and safety
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Full driving licence or easy access to public transport for learner visits and meetings
