A lovely primary school in Solihull is seeking a dedicated Early Years Teaching Assistant to support a child with Complex Autism. This full-time role starts in September 2025 and runs until July 2026, providing a crucial opportunity to make a direct impact on a child's development.
Early Years Teaching Assistant Required Axcis is working with a lovely primary school in the Solihull area to recruit a teaching assistant with experience of supporting individuals with special educational needs (SEN) and having previously worked with children aged 3 to 5 years. The role is based within their reception class; you'll be the dedicated 1:1 for a 4-year-old child with Complex Autism, including challenging behaviour and low-level personal care needs. Whilst being based within the reception class, there will also be lone working involved when taking the child outside of the classroom for activities in other school areas such as the sensory room and playground. This is a full-time role on an ongoing basis starting in September 2025 and going through to the end of the academic year (July 2026). This is a great opportunity for a teaching assistant looking to make a positive direct impact on the development, learning and life of a child. Job details: • Supporting a child with complex Autism on a 1:1 basis • Supporting all needs such as challenging behaviour and personal care • Working alongside the class teacher and other teaching assistants • Full time (8:30am – 3:30pm, Monday to Friday) • Starting September 2025 and going through to the end of the academic year (July 2026) Requirements • Experience of supporting individuals with SEND needs such as challenging behaviour and personal care – Essential • Enhanced DBS on the Update Service required or we’re happy to carry out a new one ahead of you starting the position – Essential • Minimum of 2 good references – Essential
