Job summary

Milk Education is recruiting Early Years Teaching Assistants to work across Middlesbrough and surrounding areas from September 2026. Various long-term, full-time opportunities with potential for permanent roles are available.

You will support children's learning in a safe, nurturing environment and help them achieve their full potential within EYFS. Roles involve assisting with delivery of EYFS activities, supporting communication and numeracy, and building strong relationships with pupils and

Qualifications

  • Level 2 or Level 3 Teaching Assistant or EY qualification desirable.
  • Experience in EYFS, Nursery, or Reception.
  • Good understanding of the EYFS Framework.

Responsibilities

  • Support the class teacher in delivering engaging EYFS learning activities.
  • Encourage learning through play and exploration.
  • Support children's communication, literacy, numeracy, and personal development.
  • Observe and monitor children's progress.
  • Promote positive behaviour and independence.
  • Support children with SEND where required.
  • Assist with personal care where necessary.
  • Build positive relationships with pupils, parents, and colleagues.

Early Years Teaching Assistant - Middlesbrough

Milk Education is working with a number of welcoming and supportive Primary Schools across Middlesbrough and the surrounding areas and is looking to recruit caring, enthusiastic, and dedicated Early Years Teaching Assistants to join schools from September 2026.

Whether you're an experienced Early Years Teaching Assistant, hold a Level 2 or Level 3 qualification, or have recent experience supporting children within an EYFS setting, we'd love to hear from you.

We have a range of long-term, full-time opportunities available, with the potential to become permanent for the right candidate.

You’ll play a vital role in supporting children's learning and development, helping to create a safe, nurturing, and engaging environment where every child can thrive and achieve their full potential.

Key Responsibilities
  • Support the class teacher in delivering engaging EYFS learning activities.
  • Encourage learning through play and exploration.

Skills, Qualifications & Experience

  • Excellent communication skills.Passion for supporting children's early education.

This role is paid within the advertised pay scale. Your starting rate will be determined by your qualifications, relevant experience, and the requirements of the assignment.
