Job description

Your new company

Hays Recruitment are proud to be supporting a Bristol-based primary school that is at the heart of its local community as they are looking to appoint a motivated and reliable teaching assistant for a long-term full-time temporary contract that will last the rest of the academic year. This role is based within the reception class.

Your new role

As a teaching assistant within this school, you will be joining an extremely supportive and welcoming team of like-minded professionals. You will work alongside the reception class teacher and offer a stimulating and engaging learning environment for all pupils by building strong constructive relationships, aiding in behaviour management and utilising an array of learning equipment. You will offer support across the whole class, tailoring your approach to best suit individual attainment and physical needs and taking a pupil-centred approach to education. You will offer phonics sessions/interventions on a 1:1 and small group basis and implement an array of positive behaviour strategies. Some pupils can at times be disruptive and disengage with learning materials. To combat this, you will use positive behaviour reinforcement, DOJO and brain breaks to retain focus and support learning outcomes.
