Job Title: Early Years Teaching Assistant - Primary School
Location: Lewisham, South East London
Start Date: September (Full Academic Year)
Salary: From 100+ per day (PAYE)
Contract Type: Full-Time, Long-Term
Working Hours: 8:30am - 4:00pm, Monday to Friday

Are you an experienced Early Years Teaching Assistant looking for a rewarding full-time role in a supportive and inclusive primary school?

A welcoming and well-resourced mainstream primary school in the London Borough of Lewisham is seeking a dedicated and passionate EYFS Teaching Assistant to join their team from September for the full academic year.



The Role:

As an Early Years TA, you will support pupils in the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS), including children with special educational needs (SEN). You will work alongside class teachers and the SENCO to deliver engaging, inclusive learning and play-based activities that support early development.



Key Responsibilities:

  • Providing 1:1 and small group support to children in Reception and Nursery

  • Assisting with daily classroom routines and activities

  • Supporting pupils with SEN, including ASD, speech and language difficulties, and other additional needs

  • Creating a nurturing and stimulating learning environment

  • Working closely with the class teacher and wider school team to deliver tailored support



Requirements:

  • Previous experience working as a Teaching Assistant in an Early Years or Nursery setting

  • Experience supporting children with special educational needs (SEN)

  • A CACHE Level 3 qualification in childcare or an equivalent early years/TA qualification is highly desirable but not essential

  • A positive, proactive approach and a genuine passion for supporting early childhood education
