Job Title: Early Years Teaching Assistant (TA)
Location: Gateshead
Salary: £84 - £110 per day (depending on experience)
Start Date: September 2025
Contract Type: Daily Supply, Long-Term

GSL Education are currently recruiting for a nurturing and enthusiastic Early Years Teaching Assistant to join a warm and welcoming early year setting in Gateshead. Key Responsibilities:

• Support the class teacher in delivering engaging, age-appropriate activities following the EYFS framework.
• Work 1:1 or with small groups to encourage development in language, literacy, numeracy, and social skills.
• Help create a safe, nurturing, and stimulating environments for all children.
• Observe and record progress, helping to plan next steps for learning.
• Assist with personal care and follow routines, ensuring children feel secure and supported.
• Promote positive behaviour, inclusion, and independence throughout the day.

Job Requirements:

• Experience working with young children in an early years or nursery setting.
• A relevant qualification in Early Years (e.g., Level 2/3 in Childcare or Supporting Teaching and Learning) is highly desirable.
• Knowledge of the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) curriculum.
• A caring, patient, and enthusiastic approach to working with children.

• Enhanced Child Workforce DBS on the Update Service (or willing to apply through GSL Education).
• Positive references from university placements or previous school experience.
