Job description
Overview

Early Years Teacher / Supervisor – Full-time (40 to 45 hours per week), Monday to Friday. Flexible to suit the needs of the business.

Role

To be a proactive practitioner who supports and confidently delivers the EYFS. To provide a safe, stimulating and inclusive environment in which babies and young children are supported and encouraged to achieve their full potential. To offer full and practical support in the day-to-day running of the nursery. Must have a minimum Early Years qualification of a level 5+ degree / NQT, equivalent or higher to apply for this position. Flexible to work between 7am – 6pm, Monday – Friday, to be flexible to the needs of the business.

If successful you will be selected to take part in our interview process. A member of the management team will contact successful candidates to organise a date and time slot.

Your interview checklist
  • Identification (passport, driving licence, utility bill, birth certificate)
  • Home Address (Other addresses you have lived at in the past 5 years)
  • Contact Number(s) (siblings and partners for emergencies)
  • Copies of your relevant childcare certificates (level 3 childcare diploma, foundation degree, full degree, QT, EYP etc.)
  • Copies of your GCSE certificates (Maths & English grades C and above – essential to apply)
  • Any copies of safeguarding/ child protection training and level
  • Two contacts and addresses for written references (one needs to be current employer)

Interview day

It is important to us that you feel as comfortable and confident working within our environment as we are with you working within the nursery with children. We will show you around our facilities and give you the opportunity to work within each of our classrooms and ask the team questions. Safety is paramount when working with children, so ensure you come prepared and wear appropriate clothing.

The interview focus

The interview is led by our nursery manager and supported by a senior team member. We will ask questions on the following areas:

  • Your history and experience in childcare
  • SEND
  • Your training and qualifications
  • Your knowledge and understanding of the EYFS (primary & specific areas)
  • Safeguarding and Child Protection. Procedure in dealing with ‘what to do if you are worried a child has been abused’
  • Prevent Duty & British Values
