Job summary

SANZA Teaching Agency is partnering with a welcoming primary school in Central London to recruit an Early Years Class Teacher for a mixed Nursery and Reception class with a January start. The role focuses on delivering a play-based EYFS curriculum and supporting young learners as they begin their educational journey.

You will plan, assess and progress children’s early literacy, language and numeracy skills while working closely with teaching assistants to provide high-quality support.

Qualifications

• Experience teaching within EYFS, ideally Nursery and Reception.
• Holds UK Qualified Teacher Status (QTS).
• Strong understanding of EYFS framework and child-centred learning.

Responsibilities

The role - Early Years Class Teacher

You will take responsibility for a mixed Nursery and Reception class, delivering a stimulating, play-based curriculum that caters to children at different stages of their early development.

Key responsibilities include:

• Planning and delivering creative, engaging lessons in line with the EYFS framework.
• Creating a rich learning environment that encourages exploration, independence and curiosity.
• Supporting children's communication, language, early literacy and numeracy skills.
• Promoting personal, social and emotional development, helping children build confidence and positive relationships.
• Observing, assessing and recording children's progress, adapting activities to meet individual needs.
• Working closely with teaching assistants and other colleagues to provide consistent, high-quality support.
• Building positive relationships with parents and carers to support children's learning and wellbeing.
• Ensuring safeguarding, health and safety procedures are followed at all times.

The ideal candidate

• Holds UK Qualified Teacher Status (QTS).
• Overseas Teachers welcome to apply.
• Has experience teaching within EYFS, ideally Nursery and Reception.
• Has a strong understanding of the EYFS framework and child-centred learning.
• Is creative, nurturing and passionate about giving every child the best possible start.
• Can differentiate learning to meet a range of abilities and developmental needs.
• Has excellent communication and classroom management skills.
