Job description

Early Years teachers required for advanced and emergency supply teaching cover throughout the academic year.

Your new school
I work with a number of nursery, infant and primary schools and academies, specifically located in the following postcodes of Wolverhampton Local Authority; WV1, WV6, WV7, WV8, WV9 and WV10.

Your new role
Throughout the academic year, I will be supporting nursery, infant and primary schools across Wolverhampton, with a variety of roles within the classroom including:

  1. PPA cover
  2. Emergency same day absence cover (calls received from schools from 6am)
  3. Advanced absence cover (calls received from schools up to 10pm)
  4. ECT / SLT release time cover
  5. Maternity leave
  6. Paternity leave
  7. Course cover

You will deliver pre-planned work, following on from the previous day(s) and leading on to work that is planned for the day(s) after. You will deliver quality lessons that engage the children and facilitate learning.

What you'll need to succeed
Successful Early Years supply teachers have a variety of skills and experience. You will:

  1. Hold QTS and be able to provide references that cover at least 40 days of teaching, within the last 2 years.
  2. Have experience of teaching Early Years.
  3. Knowledge of child development and the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) framework.
  4. Strong verbal and written communication skills, to interact with children, parents/guardians and colleagues.
  5. Be confident in quickly establishing new and effective relationships with children and staff.
  6. Be able to quickly read a classroom and be able to adapt your teaching delivery and classroom management style to suit the class at the time.
  7. Have a flexible approach, being able to follow the different policies of a variety of schools.

Early Years supply teaching roles are open to experienced teachers and ECTs.

You will build up a pool of schools where you want to be, you will become an extended member of their school team, able to build relationships with the children and staff over the academic year, being their chosen teacher to provide cover.
Everyone wants to cut their commute to and from work where possible - if you live in the WV1, WV6, WV7, WV8, WV9 or WV10 postcode areas of Wolverhampton, you will work in primary education settings that are local to you.
