Job summary

A local council in Scotland is seeking a candidate for a nursery leadership role, responsible for managing and improving nursery services for children and families. The role requires a commitment to delivering quality services, with a focus on continuous improvement. You will need to pass pre-employment checks including a PVG Scheme registration. This is a fixed-term position working Thursdays and Fridays.

Qualifications

  • Minimum requirement of two references, one from the current or most recent employer.
  • Must join the PVG Scheme or undergo a PVG Scheme update check.
  • Obtain SSSC registration within 3 months of employment.

Job Description

To provide effective day to day operational leadership and management of the
nursery setting for the benefit of children, families and the wider community. To
promote and develop the nursery and family nurture services to ensure the highest
quality of provision for children and families.
There is a responsibility for the post holder to demonstrate a commitment to quality service delivery through continuous improvement for the benefit of the Service and the organisation.

Working pattern is Thursdays and Fridays, 7.25 hours per day.

This is a Children’s Service Network (CSN) post. Initially you will be based at Meldrum Primary School, but you may be required to work elsewhere within the Meldrum CSN. The successful candidate will be employed on a 52.18 weeks per year contract.

Requirements

This post is regulated work with Children and/or Protected Adults under the Protection of Vulnerable Groups (Scotland) Act 2007. The preferred candidate will be required to join the PVG Scheme or undergo a PVG Scheme update check. Where an individual has spent a continuous period of 3 months or more out with the UK in the last 5 years, an Overseas Criminal Record Check will be required. You will be required to provide this check. A confirmed offer of employment and commencement in the post will be subject to the outcome of both these pre-employment checks being deemed satisfactory.

This post will require you to have obtained SSSC registration within 3 months of employment.
