Job summary

Southampton City Council is recruiting two SEND & Portage Early Years Specialists to support 0-3 year olds with developmental delays or disabilities. You will join a busy, supportive team delivering Portage teaching and family-based support.

Role requires at least two years of Early Years/SEND experience, a degree or equivalent, and the ability to work with parents and professionals, including home visits. 37 hours per week and enhanced DBS are required. Salary starts at £33,119.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 2 years’ experience in Early Years with SEND.
• Degree level or equivalent experience.
• Ability to work in partnership with parents and carers, using positive teaching strategies.
• Comfort with lone working and completing home visits within varied environments.

Responsibilities

• Deliver Portage teaching and wider support to families of 0-3 year olds with delays/needs.
• Work as part of the SEND & Portage Early Years Specialist team.
• Contribute to high-quality services and outcomes for children with SEND.
