Job summary

AWD Online is seeking an Early Years Programme Coordinator to support Best Start Family Hub networks across the county. The role coordinates activity with schools, Early Years settings and partner agencies to deliver high-quality services aligned with the Best Start in Life local plan.

This fixed-term, part-time post requires recent Early Years experience, teaching status or equivalent, and ability to lead, train and report on progress.

Qualifications

• Recent, sound experience within the Early Years field, including working across more than one setting or school.
• Ability to speak fluent English to communicate fully with clients and the public.
• Excellent written and verbal communication, organisational and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to collect, collate and analyse information, prepare reports and support quality assurance.

Responsibilities

• Lead and coordinate Best Start Family Hub network activity across a designated area of the county.
• Support the implementation, review and reporting of the Best Start in Life local plan.
• Work with schools, Early Years settings, Family Hubs and partner agencies to promote joined-up support for children and families.
• Provide practical support on Best Start in Life priorities, including home learning and parenting support.

LOCATION: Matlock, Derbyshire, East Midlands

JOB TYPE: Part Time, Fixed Term Contract until end of March 2029

WORKING HOURS: 18 hours and 30 minutes per week

JOB OVERVIEW

This is a rewarding opportunity to play a key role in strengthening joined-up support for children and families through Best Start Family Hub networks.

As the Early Years Programme Coordinator you will coordinate activity across a designated area of the county, supporting Family Hubs and network sites to deliver accessible, high-quality services in line with the Best Start in Life local plan.

The Early Years Programme Coordinator will work with schools, Early Years settings, partner agencies, providers and wider services, offering advice, guidance and practical support across areas including home learning, parenting support, inclusion and early identification of need.

The role of Early Years Programme Coordinator will also involve developing networks, sharing best practice, supporting training, preparing reports and helping drive continuous improvement across hub and network sites.

DUTIES

• Family Hub Coordination: Lead and coordinate Best Start Family Hub network activity across a designated area of the county


• Local Plan Delivery: Support the implementation, review and reporting of the Best Start in Life local plan


• Partnership Working: Work with schools, Early Years settings, Family Hubs, partner agencies and providers to promote joined-up support for children and families


• Advice and Guidance: Provide practical support on Best Start in Life priorities, including home learning, parenting support, inclusion and early identification of need


• Network Development: Develop professional networks, share best practice and support continuous improvement across hub and network sites


• Training Support: Plan, develop and deliver training to support providers in implementing Best Start Family Hub priorities


• Reporting and Evaluation: Prepare reports on progress, impact and effectiveness, using information and evidence to inform service development


• Quality Standards: Support Family Hubs to meet recognised quality standards and maintain a commitment to continuous improvement

CANDIDATE REQUIREMENTS

ESSENTIAL

• Recent, sound experience within the Early Years field, including working across more than one setting or school


• Qualified Teacher Status, Early Years Professional Status or Early Years Teacher Status


• Teaching degree or equivalent with a specialism in Early Years at Level 6


• Experience of leading, supporting and motivating others in a busy environment


• Experience of working in partnership with parents, services, agencies and other professionals


• Ability to speak fluent English in order to communicate fully with clients and the public


• Excellent written and verbal communication, organisational and interpersonal skills


• Ability to collect, collate and analyse information, prepare reports and support quality assurance


• Ability to develop and maintain professional relationships and networks across agencies


• Ability to introduce new initiatives and follow through implementation


• Detailed knowledge of national policy and guidance for Family Hubs


• Ability to promote and support inclusion across hub and network sites


• Ability to plan and deliver training, work to deadlines and maintain confidential information


• Ability to work effectively as part of a team and on own initiative
