Job summary

SANZA Teaching Agency is excited to partner with a two-form entry primary school in Islington, London, to recruit an enthusiastic Early Years Educator / EYFS Teaching Assistant. The role is based in EYFS, supporting learning and development and helping create a nurturing classroom.

Working hours are 8:30am-3:30pm, Monday to Friday, with a 4:30pm finish on staff training Mondays. This is a full-time maternity cover until at least July 2027, with a PAYE daily rate of £100-£120, starting ASAP.

Qualifications

• Has strong experience working within EYFS, ideally in a Nursery or Reception classroom.
• Ideally holds a CACHE Level 3 Early Years qualification or equivalent, although highly experienced EYFS practitioners without this qualification are encouraged to apply.
• Has a good understanding of the EYFS framework and learning through play.
• Is proactive, enthusiastic, nurturing and confident supporting young children.
• Can hit the ground running and quickly become a valued member of the team.
• Is passionate about early childhood education and helping children reach their full potential.

Responsibilities

• Support the class teacher in delivering engaging, creative and stimulating EYFS activities.
• Work with children aged 3-5 years, supporting their learning, development and wellbeing.
• Encourage learning through play, exploration and continuous provision.
• Provide individual and small-group support, adapting activities to meet children's needs.
• Support children's early communication, language, literacy, numeracy and social development.
• Help create a safe, nurturing and inclusive classroom environment where every child feels valued.
• Work collaboratively with teachers and other support staff to ensure children make excellent progress.

The Role - Early Years Practitioner/EYFS TA

Location: Islington, North London

Start Date: ASAP

Contract: Full-time maternity cover until at least July 2027

Working Days: Monday to Friday, 5 days per week

Hours: 8:30am-3:30pm (4:30pm finish on Mondays for staff training)
