Job description
Overview

Early Years Practitioner, Pirniehall Primary School

Salary: £29,173 - £33,287 (pro-rata for sessional). Hours: 36 per week, 39 weeks sessional.

Pirniehall Primary is a non-denominational school situated in the North West of Edinburgh and is part of the Craigroyston Learning Community. The school has a roll of 290 pupils, with 9 classes covering the stages P1-P7 and a further 24 nursery children attending full-time.

We are seeking a motivated and experienced Early Years Practitioner who will bring a positive and enthusiastic approach to our school and nursery. Experience of ensuring positive outcomes for children with additional support needs would be desirable.

The successful candidate will be an integral part of our team supporting, encouraging and engaging children in the Nursery and Primary 1. Currently, this post is working within our P1 classroom.

Responsibilities
  • Support, encourage and engage children in the Nursery and Primary 1; currently in the P1 classroom.
Qualifications and requirements
  • Experience of ensuring positive outcomes for children with additional support needs would be desirable.
  • SSSC registration and ongoing maintenance of registration as required by the role.
  • This post is regulated work with children under the Protection of Vulnerable Groups (Scotland) Act 2007. The preferred candidate will be required to join the PVG Scheme or undergo a PVG Scheme update check.
  • Where an individual has spent a continuous period of 3 months or more outwith the UK in the last 5 years, an Overseas Criminal Record Check will be required. An unconditional offer will be subject to satisfactory outcomes of pre-employment checks.
