The City of Edinburgh Council is seeking experienced Early Years Practitioners for permanent positions at Pennywell Early Learning and Childcare. Salary: £28,046 - £32,010 (pro rata for sessional)
Hours: 36 per week, 52 weeks & 39 weeks sessional
Pennywell Early Learning and Childcare opened in August 2024. This new centre provides high-quality learning experiences for children and families as part of the MacMillan Hub, a community-focused, collaborative location offering services in partnership with North Edinburgh Arts and the relocated Muirhouse library.
We are recruiting experienced Early Years Practitioners for permanent positions. Successful candidates will be passionate about supporting children to become confident, capable individuals, helping them reach their full potential. Practitioners should be skilled in enhancing children's learning and development, supporting children to lead their own learning, and creating meaningful experiences in our new setting. Effective teamwork, good communication, and professionalism are essential to contribute positively to our ethos and values.
We offer both 52-week and 39-week (sessional) positions. Please specify on your application which position(s) you are applying for.
Candidates will work shifts between 07:45 and 18:00, Monday to Friday, including some late shifts on a rotational basis.

This role involves regulated work with children and/or protected adults under the Protection of Vulnerable Groups (Scotland) Act 2007. The successful candidate will need to join or update their PVG Scheme membership and may require an Overseas Criminal Record Check if they have spent over 3 months outside the UK in the last 5 years. Employment is contingent upon satisfactory pre-employment checks.
