Pennywell Early Learning and Childcare

Salary: £28,046 - £32,010
Hours: 36 per week, 52 weeks

Pennywell Early Learning and Childcare opened in August 2024. This exciting new centre provides high-quality learning experiences for children and families as part of the MacMillan Hub, a community-focused, collaborative location offering services through partnerships with North Edinburgh Arts and the relocated Muirhouse library.

We are recruiting experienced Early Years Practitioners for fixed-term roles. The successful candidates will be passionate about supporting children to become confident, capable individuals and helping them reach their full potential. They will be skilled at enhancing children's learning and development, supporting children to lead their own learning, and creating meaningful experiences and spaces in our new setting. Effective team members who communicate well and contribute positively to our ethos and values are essential.

We have two positions available, with fixed-term end dates of 08/02/2026 and 30/06/2026. Please specify on your application which position(s) you are applying for.

The role involves shift work within the hours of 07:45 to 18:00, Monday to Friday, including some late shifts on a rotational basis.

This post is regulated work under the Protection of Vulnerable Groups (Scotland) Act 2007. The successful candidate will need to join the PVG Scheme or undergo a PVG scheme update check. If you have spent more than three months outside the UK in the last five years, an Overseas Criminal Record Check will be required. Employment is contingent upon satisfactory pre-employment checks.

Our salary range reflects the starting salary, with annual increases until the top of the range is reached.
