Job summary

Cumnor House School (part of Blenheim Schools) is seeking a Nursery Practitioner to join our early years team. You will provide high-quality care for children aged 2-4, support learning experiences and act as a Key Worker under supervision of the class teacher.

The role requires safeguarding, strong communication and teamwork to help children thrive. With 40 hours per week, Monday to Friday, the position offers a full-time contract and a salary up to £27,000 per annum depending on experience.

Qualifications

• A minimum Level 2 qualification in Early Years or Childcare (Level 3 desirable).
• Experience working within a nursery or early years setting.
• Good understanding of the EYFS framework and child development.
• Experience supporting children aged 2-4 years.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to build positive relationships with children, families and colleagues.
• Caring, reliable and nurturing approach.
• Ability to work independently and use your initiative when required.
• Commitment to safeguarding, child welfare and maintaining a safe learning environment.
• Proactive attitude towards professional development and continuous learning.

Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality care and supervision for children aged 2-4 years.
• Support the planning and delivery of engaging learning experiences tailored to individual needs.
• Act as a Key Worker, maintaining accurate observations and development records.
• Promote positive behaviour and encourage children's confidence, independence and social development.
• Build positive, professional relationships with children, families and colleagues.
• Maintain a safe, clean and stimulating nursery environment, ensuring resources and equipment are well cared for.
• Follow all safeguarding, health and safety, confidentiality and nursery procedures.
• Keep accurate records relating to accidents, incidents and risk assessments.
• Work collaboratively with colleagues to ensure consistently high standards of care and education.
• Participate in team meetings, training and professional development opportunities.
• Contribute positively to the wider life of the nursery and school community.
