Job summary

Nexter Ltd is seeking energetic Early Years Practitioners and Nursery Assistants to join our supply network across Southwark. Roles span Qualified and Unqualified tiers, with shifts in multiple nurseries and a focus on child development above paperwork.

Candidates should hold a relevant Early Years qualification or have 3+ months nursery experience; a Paediatric First Aid certificate is required or must be obtained immediately. Flexible start dates available across SE1, SE15, SE16.

Qualifications

• Full & Relevant Early Years or Childcare qualification (e.g., NVQ, CACHE, Level 3 Early Years Educator, NNEB).
• 3+ months verifiable experience in a private nursery or preschool setting.
• Full Paediatric First Aid (PFA) certificate required; willing to complete training immediately if not held.

We are the Early Years Professional Network, and we are looking for friendly, child-orientated Nursery Practitioners and Assistants to bring their magic to fantastic nurseries across Southwark.

We know that working in Early Years is all about the children—so we’ve built a flexible supply network that lets you focus entirely on the fun stuff, without the stress of endless paperwork or unpaid overtime!

Requirements

Who We Are Looking For:

We pride ourselves on providing nurseries with enthusiastic, reliable staff who genuinely love working with children. We have roles across two tiers:

The Qualified Tier (Level 2 & Level 3):

You hold a "Full & Relevant" Early Years or Childcare qualification (e.g., NVQ, CACHE, Level 3 Early Years Educator, NNEB).

Please note: Due to government ratio regulations, Health & Social Care or Teaching Assistant (TA) qualifications do not meet the criteria for Qualified Practitioner rates.

The Unqualified/Support Tier:

You might not have the official paperwork, but you have the heart for it! We welcome warm, experienced applicants with 3+ months of verifiable experience working in a private nursery or preschool setting.

Compliance (The 2025 Standard):

Safety first! To be counted in nursery ratios, you must hold a Full Paediatric First Aid (PFA) certificate. If you don't have one right now, you must be willing to complete the training immediately to keep our little ones safe and compliant with regulations.
