Job summary

Bright Horizons is seeking an Early Years Practitioner for our Harpenden Luton Road Day Nursery and Preschool. The role focuses on planning and delivering engaging activities tailored to each child, while reflecting on and adapting practices to support development.

You will work to create a safe, nurturing environment where children feel free to express themselves and develop a lifelong love of learning, in a team committed to safeguarding and high standards.

Qualifications

• Must hold a Level 3 (or higher) Early Years qualification.
• Strong understanding of the EYFS framework and safeguarding policies.
• Ability to build trusted relationships with colleagues and parents/carers.

Responsibilities

• Plan, create, implement and reflect on engaging activities tailored to each child.
• Foster a safe environment that encourages expression and learning.

Job description

As an Early Years Practitioner, you will plan, create, implement and reflect on engaging activities, tailored to each of your key children, to encourage their development towards key milestones. You will create a safe environment that allows children the freedom to express themselves, engage their minds, and help to foster a lifelong love of learning.

• Full and relevant Level 3 or above Early Years qualification
• Passion for creating fun and inclusive learning environments
• Strong understanding of the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS)
• Strong knowledge and understanding of safeguarding and child protection
• Ability to develop trust and strong working partnerships with both colleagues and parents/ carers

We are Ofsted rated 'Good'. The nursery is set in a beautiful converted Victorian house with seven spacious rooms spread over three floors, including a 'must-see' log cabin nursery room. The nursery also benefits from a large outdoor play area which the children enjoy regularly!
