Our client, a well-established setting in Bellshill, is recruiting for a qualified Early Years Practitioner.
- Responsible to: Nursery Principal and Head of Centre
- Purpose of post: To provide a high standard of physical, emotional, social, and intellectual care for children, creating a warm and welcoming environment.
- Plan, deliver, and evaluate an appropriate learning environment.
- Work as part of a team within the playroom and nursery.
- Implement the daily routine and demonstrate resilience for challenging behaviors, applying early intervention when needed.
- Communicate effectively with parents and maintain up-to-date knowledge of childcare developments.
- Complete all nursery paperwork neatly and professionally.
- Maintain appropriate behaviors and serve as a positive role model.
- Promote and safeguard children's welfare at all times.
Duties and responsibilities
- Update children's learning journals weekly, including planning and observations.
- Keep accurate achievement records, identifying individual needs and progress.
- Plan activities supporting children's learning aligned with relevant curricula.
- Stay informed about child development and early years sector practices.
- Partner with families and communicate effectively to support children's growth.
- Work with children, parents, and other agencies to support transitions and inclusion.
- Maintain confidentiality and share relevant information appropriately.
- Take leadership in areas such as numeracy, literacy, or health and wellbeing.
- Participate in out-of-hours activities like training and events.
- Be flexible and assist with nursery tasks, including domestic duties.
- Ensure policies and safety guidelines are followed and practices are current.
- Develop professionally within the team and uphold nursery standards.
- Create a high-quality environment respecting cultural and developmental differences.
- Represent the nursery professionally in meetings and community activities.
- Perform other reasonable duties as required by management.
