Job summary

A leading education recruitment agency in London is seeking an Early Years Practitioner for a long-term role until July 2026. The successful candidate will support children in a welcoming primary school environment by facilitating play-based learning and delivering targeted interventions. The role requires a Level 3 Early Years Qualification and prior experience in an Early Years setting. This is a full-time position with an ASAP start, offering a chance to work in a nurturing educational environment.

Early Years Practitioner (Interventions role)

Contract: July 2026 (likely to extend)

Hours: Full-time, Monday-Friday (8:30am - 4:30pm)

Start Date: ASAP start

Location: Leyton, Waltham Forest

We are working in partnership with a welcoming and inclusive 4-form entry primary school in Leyton to recruit a dedicated Early Years Practitioner to join their reception team.

This is a long-term contract until July 2026, with a high chance of extension for the right candidate. You'll play a key role in supporting early learning and development, both inside the classroom and through targeted group work.

Your week will be split between:
  • 2 days working in-class as a Reception Early Years Practitioner, supporting high-quality provision and play-based learning.
  • 3 days delivering small group interventions and targeted activities across Reception, helping to boost language, phonics, and early number skills.
The Ideal Candidate:
  • Holds a Level 3 Early Years Qualification (or equivalent)
  • Has experience working within an Early Years or Reception setting
  • Must be experienced and is confident delivering interventions and supporting phonics, early literacy, and numeracy
  • Brings energy, patience, and enthusiasm for learning through play
  • Works well as part of a team and builds positive relationships with children and staff
