Job summary

Hillside Primary School is seeking a caring Early Years Practitioner to support a new 2-year-old provision. You will help create a safe, warm, and stimulating environment where little learners can play, learn and grow with confidence.

The role focuses on building trusting relationships with children and families, planning engaging activities, and observing progress within the EYFS framework. A Level 3 Early Years qualification and DBS clearance are required.

Qualifications

  • Qualification: Minimum Level 3 Early Years Childcare or equivalent.
  • Experience: Previous work with 2-year-olds in professional childcare.
  • Knowledge: EYFS framework and child development at age two.
  • Skills: Clear communication, patience and a gentle approach to behavior management.
  • Checks: Willing to undergo enhanced DBS check.

Responsibilities

  • Provide high standards of physical, emotional, and social care for every child.
  • Build strong relationships with children and families as a main point of contact.
  • Plan and deliver age-appropriate learning activities following EYFS.
  • Track and record progress through observations and assessments.
  • Maintain a clean, safe indoor and outdoor play environment.
  • Collaborate with colleagues, leaders and parents to support diverse needs.

Job description

We are looking for a caring and enthusiastic Early Years Practitioner to join our dedicated team in our new specialised 2-year-old provision. You will help create a safe, warm, and stimulating environment where two-year-olds can play, learn and grow with confidence.

Hillside Primary School is a friendly and welcoming primary school where every child is valued and encouraged to achieve their best. We are seeking a dedicated Early Years Practitioner to join our team to help provide high-quality learning support in our new 2 year old provision.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Care and Support: Provide high standards of physical, emotional, and social care for every child.
  • Key Person Role: Build strong relationships with children and their families, acting as a main point of contact.
  • Activity Planning: Plan and deliver fun, age-appropriate learning activities that follow the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) framework.
  • Observation: Track and record children’s progress through regular observations and developmental assessments.
  • Safe Environment: Maintain a clean, secure, and organized indoor and outdoor play area.
  • Teamwork: Work closely with colleagues, leaders and parents to support children with diverse needs.
  • Culture: Promote the school’s values and ethos in all aspects of school life.
Requirements and Qualifications:
  • Qualification: Minimum Level 3 qualification in Early Years Childcare or equivalent (e.g., NVQ Level 3, CACHE).
  • Experience: Previous experience working with 2-year-olds in a professional childcare setting.
  • Knowledge: Sound understanding of the EYFS framework and child development at age two.
  • Skills: Excellent communication, patience, and a positive, gentle approach to behavior management.
  • Checks: Must be willing to undergo an enhanced DBS (Disclosure and Barring Service) check.
