The City of Edinburgh Council is seeking an Early Years Practitioner for Gylemuir Nursery. The role involves planning and facilitating high-quality learning experiences for children in a supportive environment. Early Years Practitioner - fixed term until 26/06/2025
Location: Gylemuir Nursery
Salary: £28,046 - £32,010
Hours: 36 per week, 52 weeks
We are looking for a knowledgeable, enthusiastic, and committed EYP to join our team. We welcome applications from individuals who want to help instil our values of being welcoming, supportive, creative, and happy. As Gylemuir Nursery operates year-round, the successful candidate will work flexibly over 4 shift patterns to meet the needs of individual children. They will be a team player who makes valuable contributions to the planning, facilitating, and evaluating of high-quality learning experiences.
You must ensure that you have the required qualification(s) and experience for the post before you apply. Please refer to the attached documentation for requirements, as we will be unable to consider your application otherwise.
This post is regulated work with children and/or protected adults under the Protection of Vulnerable Groups (Scotland) Act 2007. The preferred candidate will be required to join the PVG Scheme or undergo a PVG Scheme update check. If an individual has spent a continuous period of 3 months or more outside the UK in the last 5 years, an Overseas Criminal Record Check will be required. You will need to provide this check. An unconditional offer of employment and commencement in the role will depend on the satisfactory outcome of these pre-employment checks.

Our salary range typically reflects the starting salary, with annual increases until reaching the top of the range.
