Job summary

Randstad UK is seeking a Nursery Practitioner for our Charlton location. The role runs 8:00 AM to 6:00 PM, Monday to Friday, in a full‑time permanent position. You will deliver high-quality care for children 0-5, plan activities, and foster strong relationships with families.

Qualified applicants should hold Level 2/3 in Childcare; unqualified applicants with hands-on childcare experience are welcome. Competitive pay and funded professional development are offered.

Qualifications

• Hold a Level 2 or Level 3 qualification in Childcare / Early Childhood Studies (CACHE, NVQ, or equivalent).
• For Unqualified Applicants: Hands-on experience (e.g., babysitting, nannying, youth work) and a strong passion for childhood development.
• Excellent communication skills, strong teamwork, and a reliable, patient demeanour.
• Ability to commute easily to our Charlton location.

Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality day-to-day care, overseeing routines including snack/mealtimes, personal care, and rest periods.
• Plan and lead engaging indoor and outdoor activities aligned with EYFS goals.
• Build strong relationships with children and maintain communication with parents and carers.
• Support key person responsibilities, including observing progress and updating learning journals.
• Maintain a clean, safe, and stimulating environment across nursery rooms.
• Uphold all nursery policies, health and safety protocols, and safeguarding procedures.
