Job summary

The City of Edinburgh Council is seeking an Early Years Practitioner for Nether Currie Primary School in Edinburgh. The role is 18 hours per week across 39 weeks, with a pro rata salary of £30,188–£34,452.

Shifts run 7.45am–6.15pm in a rotating pattern to cover 8.00am–6.00pm on weekdays. Applicants must hold SCQF Level 7 in Social Services (Children and Young People) or HNC Childhood Practice and be prepared for PVG checks.

Qualifications

• Must hold SCQF Level 7 in Social Services(Children and Young People) or HNC Childhood Practice (SCQF Level 7).
• PVG Scheme required or PVG update check prior to start.

Responsibilities

• Plan and provide high-quality learning experiences for children aged 2–5.
• Support children’s development through play-based activities and structured learning sessions.
• Work within 52-week delivery model with rota shifts to cover early learning and childcare hours.
