Job Title: Early Years Practitioner (EYP)

Location: Rotherham, S62
Salary: £86 - £100 per day (Depending on experience)
Start: Immediate
Contract: Day-to-day/Long-term, Part-time/Full-time

As an Early Years Practitioner, your responsibilities include supporting teaching and learning within a primary setting. You will collaborate with the teaching team to create an inclusive, safe, and nurturing environment where children can thrive socially, emotionally, and academically. Your work will directly impact children's learning experiences, laying a strong foundation for their future education.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support the planning and delivery of age-appropriate activities that engage children and promote their development.
  • Create a positive, stimulating learning environment using creativity and enthusiasm.
  • Build trusting relationships with children, parents, and colleagues to foster a supportive atmosphere.
  • Monitor and assess children's development, providing feedback to teachers and parents.
  • Encourage social and emotional development, helping children build confidence and resilience.
  • Support children with additional needs, including SEN or English as an additional language, using tailored strategies.
  • Assist in managing classroom routines and activities to ensure safety and organization.
  • Follow safeguarding procedures to ensure children's safety and well-being.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to implement effective teaching strategies tailored to individual needs.

Requirements:

  • Relevant qualification in Early Years Education (e.g., Level 2 or 3 Diploma in Early Years).
  • Strong knowledge of the EYFS curriculum and ability to implement it effectively.
  • Genuine passion for working with young children and supporting their development.
  • Understanding of child protection and safeguarding policies.
  • Experience or interest in Forest Schools (desirable).
  • Excellent communication skills for working with children, colleagues, and parents.
  • Ability to organize activities efficiently while managing individual needs.
  • Updated CV covering the last ten years, with no unexplained gaps.
  • Enhanced DBS registered on the update service or willingness to apply for one through GSL Education.
