Position: Early Years Practitioner - fixed term until 08/05/2026

Location: Dalry Primary School & Nursery

Salary: £28,046 - £32,010 (pro-rata for sessional)

Hours: 36 per week, 39 weeks

Dalry Primary School & Nursery is a diverse and multicultural primary school & nursery located in the city centre of Edinburgh, approximately a 5-minute walk from Haymarket Station. The school has a strong inclusive ethos, supported by a wide range of partnership services and agencies, enhancing the work and wider life of the school & nursery. Our nursery currently delivers 1140 hours with a capacity of 64 pupils.

We are seeking an enthusiastic and committed Early Years Practitioner (EYP) to join our positive and nurturing environment. The successful candidate will work collaboratively within the wider early years team, with potential involvement in transition and play pedagogy from Nursery to Primary 1.

Working Hours: Monday-Thursday 08:00 to 16:00, Friday 08:00 to 14:30

Qualifications and Experience: Please ensure you meet the required qualifications and experience before applying. Refer to the attached documentation for specific requirements.

Regulations: This position involves regulated work with children and/or protected adults under the Protection of Vulnerable Groups (Scotland) Act 2007. The preferred candidate will need to join the PVG Scheme or undergo a PVG Scheme update check. If you have spent a continuous period of 3 months or more outside the UK in the last 5 years, an Overseas Criminal Record Check will be required. Employment is contingent upon satisfactory pre-employment checks.

Our salary range typically reflects the starting salary, with annual increases until reaching the top of the range.
