Job summary

A local government organization in Coldstream seeks an Early Years Practitioner to provide lunch cover in a busy school ELC. Applicants must have relevant qualifications such as HNC in Childhood Practice or equivalent. This role is temporary until August 2026 and involves important contributions to the school community.

Qualifications

  • At least one of the following qualifications: HNC in Childhood Practice/Childcare & Education, SVQ Social Services (Children & Young People) SCQF 7 / SVQ 3 Children's Care, Learning & Development.
  • Applicants with SNNEB/NNEB may be considered if they can evidence a record of ongoing CPD during the past 5 years.
  • Must register with the Scottish Social Services Council (SSSC) within 3 months of appointment.

Recruitment Profile

To provide lunch cover in a busy school ELC. As an Early Years Practitioner you would be expected to complete the EYP remit while they are out of the room at lunchtime.

We are looking to appoint an EYP to our busy ELC. Our ELC is a very important part of our wider school community here at Coldstream Primary and we look forward to welcoming a new member to our team.

Essential

At least one of the following qualifications:
HNC in Childhood Practice/Childcare & Education
SVQ Social Services (Children & Young People) SCQF 7 / SVQ 3 Children's Care, Learning & Development
Applicants with an SNNEB/NNEB may be considered where they can evidence a record of on-going CPD during the past 5 years
All successful applicants for early learning and childcare posts will be required to be registered with the Scottish Social Services Council (SSSC) within 3 months of appointment and maintain registration throughout the period of employment.
