Position: Early Years Practitioner - fixed term until 30/11/2025
Location: Canaan Lane Primary School
Salary: £28,046 - £32,010 (pro-rata for part-time and sessional)
Hours: 22.75 per week, 39 weeks
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a skilled and enthusiastic Early Years Practitioner to work in Canaan Lane Primary School, a new school in the south of Edinburgh that opened a year ago. The school currently has two Primary 1 classes, two Primary 2 classes, and an Early Learning and Childcare facility.
Our Early Learning and Childcare facility features nurturing, creative, and well-resourced environments that support and encourage children to discover a love of learning. Outside, there are vibrant spaces that promote outdoor learning, reflecting our vision for holistic development.
We seek an Early Years Practitioner passionate about working with 3-5-year-olds. This role offers a chance to be part of an innovative and creative learning environment where children are empowered to explore their interests, share ideas, and stay motivated to learn.

This position involves regulated work with children and/or protected adults under the Protection of Vulnerable Groups (Scotland) Act 2007. The successful candidate will need to join or update their PVG Scheme membership and may require an Overseas Criminal Record Check if they have spent over three months outside the UK in the last five years. Employment is contingent upon satisfactory completion of these checks.
