The Highland Council is seeking an Early Years Practitioner to work at Dunbeath Primary School. This role involves delivering a flexible, high-quality early learning and childcare service while working towards qualifications if unqualified. The position is full-time, with salary based on qualifications and experience, and registration with the SSSC is required.

Hours: 30 Hours Per Week
Duration: Fixed Term until 02 July 2026
Salary: £18,809 - £20,603 (unqualified) £20,893 - £22,880 (qualified)
Salary placing will normally be at the first point of the scale.

Qualified Early Years Practitioners should hold a recognised qualification in Childcare and Education (e.g., HNC, NNEB, SVQ 3) and will be paid on grade HC0535.
Unqualified workers employed as Early Years Practitioners are expected to work towards one of the above qualifications within an agreed timeframe and will be paid on grade HC0435.
The Early Years Practitioner must hold or be willing to apply for registration with the Scottish Social Services Council (SSSC). Existing registrants should inform the SSSC of any employment changes.
Qualifications in Food Handling and First Aid are advantageous.
