Job summary

Sandwell Metropolitan Borough Council is seeking a Nursery Officer to join the Workplace Nursery team in Oldbury. This fixed-term maternity cover role is 22 hours per week, located at Freeth St Oldbury B69 3DE, and offers a caring, supportive environment focused on early years development.

You will plan and deliver EYFS activities, observe progress, and build strong relationships with children, families and colleagues, while upholding safeguarding and inclusive practices.

Qualifications

• A recognised Level 3 Childcare Qualification.
• Experience in an Early Years setting.
• Knowledge of the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS).
• Strong communication and relationship-building skills.
• Ability to work effectively as part of a team.

Responsibilities

• Create a warm, welcoming and inclusive environment for children.
• Plan and deliver fun, stimulating EYFS activities across all areas.
• Observe and celebrate children's progress and achievements.
• Act as a Key Worker, building relationships with children, parents and carers.
