Job summary

Lisburn Sure Start, part of Bryson Group, is hiring an Early Years Assistant on a fixed-term basis for 20 hours per week. The role offers £13.51 per hour (£12,879.62 per annum based on the contract pattern) and runs until 31 March 2027.

The candidate will support coordinated services for families with children from pre-birth to age 4, delivering inclusive activities and promoting safety and wellbeing.

Qualifications

• Experience in an early years setting (paid or unpaid) is required.
• NVQ Level 3 Child Care or equivalent, or actively working towards it.
• Grade C or above in English and Mathematics or equivalent.

Responsibilities

• Assist planning and delivery of safe, welcoming and inclusive activities for young children.
• Support children's play, learning, exploration, and development indoors and outdoors.
• Provide activities reflecting age, development stage, and individual needs.
• Support development across emotional, social, language, and cognitive areas.
• Observe progress and share observations with the Early Years Coordinator and staff.
• Follow safeguarding policies and report concerns promptly.
• Build positive relationships with parents and carers and encourage participation.

Early years experience

Education

NVQ Level 3 Child Care qualification or equivalent or working towards qualification

Grade C or above including English Language and Mathematics or equivalent

Clean drivers’ licence, access to transport and Business (Class) Car Insurance for the vehicle and driver
