Job description

Mulberry Bush Day Nursery, Mulbarton, are looking for a qualified Nursery Practitioner to join our friendly, child-centred team. This vacancy has arisen due to continued growth and popularity with the need for us to expand our team of Early Years Practitioners.

We are seeking someone with experience of looking after and supporting children with a special affinity for 2 year olds, a practitioner who thrives supporting children's different personalities, and nurtures and shapes developing minds. We are looking for someone with a warm and friendly disposition who enjoys working in a team of like-minded practitioners.

Mulberry Bush is a full day care setting, open from 8am-6pm, Monday-Friday, 51 weeks a year for children aged 6 months to 5 years. It is a thriving and popular nursery with an excellent reputation for high quality care and education and a genuine commitment to inclusion and working in partnership with families.

The position is full-time, a minimum of 36 hours worked over 4 days a week, and you must be available for 8am-6pm shifts, and all year round - we are not a 'term-time only' provider.

Qualifications and relevant experience of looking after young children are essential for this position. After training you will be expected to take on key-person responsibilities, having responsibility for the care and education of the children, and nurturing partnerships with parents and carers. The successful applicant will be a dedicated childcare practitioner with a good working knowledge of child development and a passion for supporting every child's individuality. We are looking for someone to join our friendly team in continuing to build on best practice and bring their own ideas and enthusiasm. You will be required to work within the EYFS and take an active role in the planning and implementation of activities based around a child-centred ethos and working from our book-led curriculum.

Applicants must hold a full and relevant level 2 or higher early years qualification.

To apply please email the nursery at mulbarton@mulberrybush.org with a covering letter and your CV. If you meet our requirements we will be back in touch and send you an Application Form. You are welcome to telephone on 01508 570100 or email for more information. Visits are also welcome – just get in touch.

Mulberry Bush is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and expects all staff and volunteers to share this commitment. This post is exempt from the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974. Applicants must be prepared to disclose any convictions they may have and any orders which have been made against them.
