About the role

TeacherActive is proud to be working with a private day-nursery with their search for an Early Years Practitioner. This is an exciting opportunity to work with a warm and positive private day-nursery in York, which focuses on child engagement with a therapeutic approach. The setting cares for up to 70 children, with indoor and outdoor areas split into age-appropriate sections offering sensory-enhancing activities. The nursery aims to challenge children in a safe and secure environment.

The nursery is looking to recruit a Level 3 qualified Early Years Practitioner on a long-term basis with the opportunity to go permanent for the right candidate. You will report directly to the Nursery Manager and could be required to work across all rooms, supporting children from ages 6 weeks up to 4 years. In a time of growth for this nursery, career progression opportunities are available for the right Nursery Practitioner.

Responsibilities

• Support children from 6 weeks to 4 years across all rooms as required by the nursery.
• Engage in play and learning activities that support development and wellbeing.
• Collaborate with the nursery team to maintain a safe and engaging environment.

Qualifications

• Level 3 qualification in Early Years (desirable)
• Level 2 qualification in Early Years (required)
• Knowledge of the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) curriculum
• Adaptable with a proactive, can-do approach
