Nursery: Bright Horizons Bristol Day Nursery and Preschool

Salary: Starting From £24,270.90 - £25,200 per annum (dependent on skills and qualifications)

Location: Bristol, BS3

We are looking for a full time, Level 2/3 qualified Practitioner to join our Bright Horizons Bristol Day Nursery and Preschool, situated under the iconic Clifton Suspension Bridge, and overlooking the beautiful surroundings of the Ashton Court Estate. There are good public transport links and onsite park.

The 56 place nursery has a real home from home feel, with many of our staff with 10+ years service. The nursery has recently undergone a full refurbishment and boasts an impressive outdoor space with pagodas, mud kitchens and lots of room to explore and play. All rooms have access to the garden and use it daily to support children's physical development. The indoor area is also spacious and offers an array of learning opportunities for all age groups; from the calming sleep area in the baby room, to loose parts play and a curiosity corner in our Toddler room. We offer a school readiness programme in preschool as well as opportunities for Forest School sessions, mindfulness and gentle stretching and exciting opportunities for experiments and science activities. The Preschool children champion our Eco-Schools accreditation with the support of the wider nursery.

What you’ll be doing

  • Plan, create, implement and reflect on engaging activities, tailored to each of your key children, to encourage their development towards key milestones.
  • Develop and maintain strong parent/carer partnerships
  • Promote and ensure child welfare, protection, health and safety and safeguarding
  • Work with colleagues to maintain a positive, happy and safe environment

What we’re looking for

  • Full and Relevant Level 3 or above Early Years qualification (essential)
  • Previous experience working with children (ideally as a Nursery Nurse, Nursery Practitioner, Early Years Educator, or similar)
  • Passion for making learning fun and engaging for each child
  • Ability to build trust and strong working relationships with both colleagues and parents
  • Ability to use a variety of communication techniques with both children and adults
  • Strong knowledge and understanding of Safeguarding, Child Protection, and the wider legislative requirements for working with children
