Early Years Outreach Worker - Working across different early years centres across East Dunbartonshire
Supporting children with additional Support needs within mainstream early years centres a key priority in East Dunbartonshire. We have developed our Early Years and Childcare Services to meet parents and family's needs in line with the Children and Young People (Scotland) Act 2014. We are now delivering 1140 hours of early learning and childcare in all our services, and we are offering parents greater flexibility and choice.
The Early Years Outreach Worker's role is to support staff in an Early Years Centre who are working with children with identified additional support needs (ASN) by introducing strategies and approaches to support their implementation in the nursery environment. The Early Years Outreach Worker will also support parents through short interventions where their child has an identified language and communication barriers.
You will be required to work as part of a team that supports the development of high-quality early years services for children and families across the Council. You will work in both Local Authority and Funded Partnership Early Years centres.
You will be enthusiastic and articulate with excellent interpersonal and communication skills and understand the importance of confidentiality.
As part of this post, you must be willing to undertake a qualification and training relevant to the SSSC requirements.

Where the post you are applying for is considered a Regulated Role under the Disclosure (Scotland) Act 2020, successful candidates will be required to join the PVG Scheme, or undergo a PVG Scheme Update check, prior to confirmation of employment being made by East Dunbartonshire Council.
Please note, successful candidates will be expected to meet the cost of the relevant check which will be deducted from the successful candidate's first salary payment.
In specific circumstances the payment could be deducted in instalments from an employee's wages following commencement of employment. Approval in such circumstances will be made by the HR &OD Manager.
Should an employee leave in advance of the payment being deducted, the full amount will be deducted from the employee's final salary.
The criteria outlined above will apply to existing employees of East Dunbartonshire Council who apply for roles for which a PVG/Disclosure check is required.
