Early Years Lead Practitioner Apprenticeship – Level 5 – Hopton School House Playgroup

Shoots Training is currently recruiting for a punctual, reliable, and enthusiastic individual to join Hopton School House Playgroup as a Nursery Manager for an immediate start or September 2025, ready for the start of the academic year.

Hopton School House Playgroup is located in a 300-year-old building and caters to 20 children. It is a very personal, homely, and friendly environment.

We consist of 2 rooms: a playroom and a craft room.

Additionally, we have access to a kitchen, office, and meeting rooms.

Qualities Required:
  • We are looking for a person to take on the role of Manager to join our lovely team and oversee the day-to-day running of this busy setting.
  • A strong understanding of the EYFS Framework, safeguarding, policies and procedures, and awareness of changes in practice are essential. A minimum of 2 years’ experience is required.
  • Qualified at NVQ Level 3 in Children’s Care, Learning and Development or above is essential.
  • Good understanding of SEN.
  • Confidence with IT is a must.
Your Roles and Responsibilities will include:
  • Being passionate about early years education and care, with a love for working with children aged 2 years 6 months to 4 years old.
  • Planning and delivering engaging, age-appropriate activities that nurture learning and creativity in a safe and inspiring environment.
  • Observing, assessing, and tracking children’s individual progress.
  • Supporting children’s social, emotional, and personal development.
  • Helping all children thrive through play and ensuring they have fun.
  • Demonstrating excellent communication skills and liaising confidently with children’s families, staff, and visitors.
Hours:
  • Hopton School House Playgroup is open from 07:30 to 18:00, Monday to Friday.
  • Term-time only.
  • Working hours will be a minimum of 35 hours per week, with shift patterns to be discussed.
Requirements:
  • GCSEs A*-C/4+ in English Language and Maths or equivalent (e.g., functional skills).
  • Must be able to obtain a clear DBS check.
