Job summary

Shoots Training is seeking a Level 5 Early Years Lead Practitioner Apprentice at Rabbit Patch Day Nursery. The role centers on leading day-to-day practice, delivering EYFS activities, and guiding junior staff in a warm, woodland-based setting.

The post requires a Level 3 childcare qualification, room-leader experience, and a commitment to safeguarding. The Nursery offers a family-friendly environment and opportunities for professional development.

Qualifications

• A Level 3 Childcare qualification is essential.
• Experience in behaviour management and SEN knowledge.
• Experience as a room leader and supervising staff.
• GCSEs in Maths and English at grade C/4 or better.
• First aid qualification is desirable.

Responsibilities

• Deliver developmentally appropriate activities for ages 0–5 in line with EYFS.
• Observe and assess children's progress; adapt planning to individual needs.
• Safeguard and promote welfare following statutory guidance.
• Work with external agencies to support learners with additional needs.
• Collaborate with parents and carers and communicate children's well‑being.

Your duties and responsibilities will include;

• Child Development & Learning
• Promote the physical, emotional, social, and cognitive development of children aged 0-5
• Plan and deliver stimulating, age-appropriate activities in line with the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS)
• Observe, assess, and record children's progress to inform planning and support individual needs
• Safeguarding & Child Welfare
• Ensure a safe, secure, and nurturing environment for all children
• Follow safeguarding and child protection procedures in accordance with statutory guidance
• Maintain confidentiality and adhere to GDPR and data protection policies
• Inclusion & Special Educational Needs (SEN)
• Support children with additional needs, ensuring inclusive access to learning opportunities
• Work collaboratively with external agencies and professionals to implement tailored support strategies
• Promote equality, diversity, and inclusive practices throughout the setting
• Partnership with Parents & Carers
• Build and maintain positive relationships with families and carers

• Maintain accurate records, including observations, assessments, and safeguarding documentation
• Support the day-to-day organisation of the setting, including routines, transitions, and events
• Uphold all policies, procedures, and standards set by the organisation and regulatory bodies

Requirements;

• A Level 3Childcare qualificationis essential
• Experience in behaviour management- knowledge of SEND
• Experience as a room leader
• GCSE grades A*-C or 4-9 in Maths and English, or equivalent
• First aid desirable

Hours;

• Rabbit Patch Day Nursery is open from 7:30am – 6:00pm Monday to Friday
• The successful candidate will be required to work 40hours per week over 4/4.5 days
