Job summary

Bidford on Avon Primary School is seeking a caring SEN 1:1 Teaching Assistant to support a pupil with Special Educational Needs. You will work with the class teacher, SENDCo and other professionals to implement individualised support strategies and help the pupil access learning in the classroom and wider school environment.

The role includes lunchtime support and encouraging positive social interactions. The appointment is fixed-term until July 2027, with a six-month probation and safeguarding

Qualifications

• Experience of working with children is desirable.
• Experience of supporting children with Special Educational Needs is desirable.
• Confident in promoting learning through literacy and numeracy.

Responsibilities

• Provide 1:1 support for a pupil with SEN in the classroom and beyond.
• Support learning activities and contribute to monitoring progress.
• Assist during lunchtime and promote positive social interaction.

Salary: Depending on Experience
Working Hours: Monday to Friday, 8:40am – 3:25pm (30-minute lunch break)

About Us & The Role

Bidford on Avon Primary School is seeking to appoint a caring, dedicated and enthusiastic SEN 1:1 Teaching Assistant to join our experienced and supportive team.
This role involves providing individual support for a pupil with Special Educational Needs, helping them to access learning, develop independence and achieve their full potential within the classroom and wider school environment. The successful candidate will work closely with the class teacher, SENDCo and other professionals to implement support strategies and ensure the pupil's needs are met effectively.
The role will also include supporting the pupil’s during lunchtime and encouraging positive social interactions and engagement in school life. The successful candidate will need to be flexible, patient and committed to supporting the wellbeing and progress of children with additional needs.
The successful applicant will be subject to a six-month probationary period.

• Experience of working with children is desirable.
