Job summary

Teach Now is seeking an Early Years Inclusion Assistant for a welcoming primary school in Stevenage, Hertfordshire. This full-time temporary role supports Reception-age children, including those with additional needs, under the guidance of the class teacher. Hours are 8:30am to 3:30pm, Monday to Friday, term time only.

Start date 12 October 2026. Salary is £95–£105 per day, with higher rates for substantial experience or relevant qualifications such as a Level 2 or 3 Teaching Assistant

Qualifications

• Experience as a Teaching Assistant or similar classroom support role.
• Experience supporting young children in an early years or primary setting.
• Experience providing individual or small-group support for children with additional needs.
• Understanding of positive behaviour support and safeguarding; right to work in the UK and safeguarding checks.

Responsibilities

• Support inclusive learning activities and daily classroom routines.
• Provide individual and small-group support to encourage participation.
• Develop children's communication, social skills and independence.
• Use calm, consistent approaches to behaviour and engagement.
• Prepare resources and share observations with the class teacher.
