Job summary

A local pre-school is seeking a caring and enthusiastic Early Years Educator to join their team. This role involves supporting children's learning and development, ensuring their safety and wellbeing. The ideal candidate must have a Level 3 Early Years Educator qualification and a genuine love for early years education. Working hours are part-time, term-time only, with a pay rate starting at £12.21 per hour.

Qualifications

  • Must have Level 3 Early Years Educator (minimum).
  • Will complete essential training (e.g. Safeguarding, First Aid).
  • Willingness to complete an Enhanced DBS check.

Responsibilities

  • Act as a Key Person to a small group of children.
  • Support children's interests through planned activities.
  • Ensure safety and welfare of the children.
  • Prepare snacks/lunches and assist with mealtimes.
  • Support children with personal care routines.

Overview

When: Mondays 8.30am - 3.00pm, Tuesdays 9.00am - 3.00pm, Wednesdays 7.00am - 12.00noon, Thursdays 12.00noon - 4.00pm (21.5 hours per week, Term Time only, with a potential for additional hours).

Pay: Zero hours contract, starting at £12.21 per hour (National Living Wage) with potential to review based on experience.

Qualifications: Must have Level 3 Early Years Educator (minimum).

About the role: We are looking for a caring, reliable and enthusiastic Early Years Educator to join our close-knit team at The Village Pre-School, Upham. You will work as a key person, responsible for supporting children's learning, development and wellbeing, while building strong relationships with families and colleagues.

Responsibilities
  • Acting as a Key Person to a small group of children, maintaining accurate observations and records
  • Supporting children\'s interests through planned and spontaneous activities
  • Ensuring the safety, welfare, and happiness of the children at all times
  • Preparing snacks/lunches and assisting with mealtimes
  • Supporting children with personal care routines (including nappy changing)
  • Liaising professionally with parents/carers at drop-off and collection
  • Setting up and packing away the setting in line with daily rota
  • Attending regular staff meetings and training sessions
Additional Requirements
  • Willingsness to complete essential training (e.g. Safeguarding, Food Hygiene, First Aid)
  • Enhanced DBS check (paid for by the setting) and registration with the Update Service (paid for by you)
  • A proactive, flexible attitude and a genuine love of early years education
